Klarna goes live at Lands End in the UK, Germany, Austria and France through Stripe
United KingdomGermanyAustriaFrance
What happened
Klarna's payment options went live at Lands End checkouts in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria and France, reported on 30 October 2026. Shoppers can pay in full, pay in 30 days, split the cost into three interest-free instalments or take longer-term financing, with availability varying by market. Stripe powers the integration, extending a US partnership that began in May 2026.
Why it matters
The notable part is the route: a US retailer took Klarna into four European checkouts through its existing Stripe integration rather than contracting Klarna market by market. That is how pay-later distribution now works in Europe, and it means the gateway rather than the method owns the merchant conversation.
What to watch
Whether Lands End adds more European markets, and how the EU consumer credit rules applying from 20 November 2026 change which of these four options it can offer.
