Ingenico launches next-generation AXIUM device family and Ingenico 360 unified cloud platform at Paytech 2026
What happened
On 10 February 2026 at Paytech 2026 in Vienna, Ingenico launched its next-generation AXIUM device family and Ingenico 360 unified cloud platform. The AXIUM range is built on a common architecture across all form factors (mobile, countertop, multilane, self-service, PIN pad, SoftPOS), certified to PCI PTS v7, running Android 14. Features include AI-ready design, dynamic LEDs, large displays, powerful cameras, haptics, and support for digital identity, stablecoin, loyalty, and digital receipts.
The flagship DX-8 ships this quarter. Ingenico 360 is cloud-native, integrating device management, transaction services, POS connectivity, applications, analytics, and developer tools. All hardware, software, and cloud development is performed in France by Ingenico's own engineering teams.
Why it matters
This is the most significant Ingenico product launch in years — a full platform refresh from hardware through cloud. The unified architecture across all form factors simplifies certification and deployment for acquirers. PCI PTS v7 certification puts Ingenico ahead of competitors still on v6. The 'all-engineered-in-France' positioning directly addresses data sovereignty and geopolitical risk concerns that are increasingly important for European banks and acquirers — a differentiation point against Chinese competitors (PAX, SUNMI, Castles, Newland). Ingenico 360 signals the strategic shift from hardware to software/platform revenue.
What to watch
Monitor DX-8 deployment traction through Q2-Q3 2026. Track customer adoption of Ingenico 360 cloud services — platform attach rate will be a key metric. Watch whether the data sovereignty messaging resonates with European acquirers evaluating Chinese terminal alternatives.
