Ingenico secures 150m EUR from PIMCO-led investors to reset capital structure and fund cloud shift

EU

What happened

Ingenico agreed a capital-structure reset anchored by a 150m EUR investment from a PIMCO-led group of international investors, bringing in fresh equity while addressing existing debt. New CEO Floris de Kort said the money funds product innovation, the AXIUM Android device family and the Ingenico 360 cloud platform, with new offices in London, San Francisco and Istanbul.

Why it matters

Ingenico is one of Europe's two dominant terminal makers and had its debt downgraded by S&P in early 2026 after a revenue decline; a 150m EUR recapitalisation eases that balance-sheet pressure and funds de Kort's pivot from hardware vendor to cloud-platform provider, which reshapes what acquirers and banks buy at the point of sale.

What to watch

Whether the raise stabilises Ingenico's rating, how fast AXIUM and Ingenico 360 convert its installed base to the cloud model, and whether PIMCO's involvement presages a fuller ownership change from current owner Apollo.
