Global Payments Q1 2026: Worldpay salesforce selling Genius; EMEA revenue ~€600m, Subway 2,500-location win
What happened
On its Q1 2026 results (early-to-mid May 2026), Global Payments said the former Worldpay enterprise/SMB salesforce began selling its Genius POS platform immediately post-close. New Genius locations grew ~25% QoQ, with Subway deploying across ~2,500 locations. European quarterly revenue reached ~€600m post-Worldpay — larger than Nexi and near Worldline in Europe — with top acquirer positions in the UK and Poland. Genius is live in Austria and Germany with more rollouts planned through 2026-2027.
Why it matters
A unified Genius POS/terminal platform pushed through Worldpay's distribution is a direct competitive escalation in Ingenico/Worldline markets and a key terminal-vendor/platform decision for Germany, Ireland and the UK.
What to watch
Which European markets Genius enters next, the hardware behind Genius and its OEM, payment attach rates, and whether the Worldpay salesforce sustains momentum.
