Verifone partners with Thales for eSIM-based global terminal connectivity
What happened
On 11 March 2026, Verifone partnered with Thales to integrate eSIM (SGP.32) into next-gen terminals. Goal: eliminate removable SIMs and country-specific hardware, single global SKU with OTA connectivity provisioning.
Why it matters
eSIM approach could give Verifone logistics and deployment cost advantage over competitors for global acquirers and PSPs operating across multiple European markets.
