What it does
Belgian domestic debit card scheme, renamed Bancontact Company in March 2026 when it brought its brands under one name. Contracts with merchants directly through Bancontact Pro, and is itself a payment institution supervised by the National Bank of Belgium. Bancontact Pay is the app face of the same card scheme, not an account-to-account rail.
