• Jul 2025·übernahm Global Payments Croatia — Global Payments' Vienna-based joint venture with Erste Group signed on 30 Jul 2025 to acquire Erste Card Club, subject to merger control and Croatian National Bank approval, and the European Commission cleared it in December 2025. SeeNews lists the company as Global Payments d.o.o., formerly Erste Card Club d.o.o., but no closing announcement was found.

• Jul 2023·verkaufte Comercia Global Payments — Notified to the CNMC on 21 Jul 2023 and authorised in phase 1 on 26 Jul 2023 (C/1405/23, resolution https://www.cnmc.es/sites/default/files/4893692_0.pdf). UniversalPay moved from Global Payments' sole control to joint control of Global Payments and CaixaBank through Comercia, which absorbs it under a framework agreement between Comercia, UniversalPay, Global Payments, CaixaBank and CaixaBank Payments & Consumer. Comercia said on 29 Dec 2023 (Europa Press) that it had completed the acquisition in 2023 and begun integration. Comercia remains 80% Global Payments and 20% CaixaBank. No price was disclosed.
• Aug 2022·übernahm EVO Payments — All-cash at $34.00/share ($4.0B EV); Silver Lake made a $1.5B convertible-note investment in Global Payments
• May 2021·übernahm PAYONE's Austrian POS acquiring business — Erste Group announced on 7 May 2021 that its payments joint venture with Global Payments and CaixaBank had signed on 3 May to acquire Payone's Austrian customer base, subject to European Commission and Austrian approvals (https://www.erstegroup.com/en/news-media/press-releases/2021/05/07/global-payments-acquires-customers-in-austria-from-payone). PAYONE was then owned by Worldline and DSV Group. Global Payments reported in its Q3 2021 results that the acquisition had closed.
• Jul 2020·übernahm Comercia Global Payments — Global Payments agreed in July 2020 to buy 29% of Comercia from CaixaBank, its partner in the Spanish merchant acquiring joint venture, and extended the partnership through 2040. It paid EUR 493m (USD 578.2m) on 1 Oct 2020, and CaixaBank booked a EUR 420m capital gain.
• Dec 2015·übernahm Heartland Payment Systems — Cash-and-stock deal at $100.00 per Heartland share (0.6687 Global Payments shares plus $53.28), valuing the US merchant acquirer at $4.3B.
• Mar 2015·übernahm Realex Payments — Global Payments bought Realex Payments, one of Europe's larger online payment gateways, for about €115M funded from available liquidity. Realex added gateway, fraud scoring, recurring billing and DCC services to Global Payments' European acquiring.
• Dec 2010·übernahm Comercia Global Payments — Completed 20 Dec 2010. Global Payments paid la Caixa EUR 125M cash for 51%, a total investment of EUR 128.3M including its share of the EUR 6.4M initial capital. la Caixa kept 49% and agreed a 20-year marketing alliance to refer merchants to Comercia and sponsor it into the card networks (GPN 10-K FY2011). CaixaBank now holds the la Caixa side through CaixaBank Payments & Consumer, and CNMC's C/1229/21 report calls Comercia a joint venture founded in December 2010 by CaixaBank and Global Payments. In 2020 Global Payments paid EUR 493M to raise its stake to 80% (FY2021 10-K). CNMC records that this did not change joint control.
• Dec 2003·übernahm Global Payments Europe, s.r.o. — Global Payments announced the agreement on 19 December 2003 and bought KB's 52.6% on 18 February 2004 for $34.7M in cash. A public tender offer required by Czech law, run by its subsidiary PGT Capital, s.r.o., added 46,576 shares for about $28.8M and took the stake to 98.3% on 14 May 2004. Before signing, KB agreed to extend its payment services contracts with MUZO for three years. As of June 2003 MUZO had about 1,200 ATMs and 19,000 merchant POS terminals connected to its authorization system. Per the Czech commercial register, MUZO, a.s. (IČ 00001155) was renamed Global Payments Europe, a.s. on 15 September 2005 and on 1 October 2006 merged into PGT Capital s.r.o. (IČO 27088936), which took the name Global Payments Europe, s.r.o. the same day.
