What it does
Runs the Vipps and MobilePay wallets, formed by merging the Norwegian app launched in 2015 with the Danish one launched in 2013. It says more than 12 million users and over 400,000 merchants and online stores use it, and puts adoption among people aged 15 and over at 93 percent in Norway, 92 percent in Denmark and 59 percent in Finland.

- Jun 2021·acquired MobilePay Denmark A/S — Danske Bank agreed on 30 Jun 2021 to merge MobilePay with Vipps and Finland's Pivo, a plan later narrowed when OP Financial Group and Pivo dropped out. Vipps AS completed the acquisition of MobilePay Denmark A/S on 1 Nov 2022, leaving the Norwegian banks with 72.2% and Danske Bank with 27.8%.
