TWINT

What it does

Operator of Switzerland's domestic mobile payment scheme, owned by the major Swiss banks together with SIX and Worldline. TWINT sets the scheme rules and runs the infrastructure linking bank-issued wallets to merchants in store and online, while merchant acceptance and settlement are handled by the acquirers and payment service providers that integrate the scheme, which is why it is recorded as a Swiss company and never as a provider in the market.
