What it does
Payment infrastructure for marketplaces and platforms: per-user e-wallets, card and local-method pay-ins, split settlement and payouts to sellers, with FX, virtual IBANs and identity/fraud checks on top, sold to marketplaces, on-demand, travel, SaaS and financial platforms rather than to ordinary merchants. The record is filed on the licensed entity, MANGOPAY S.A. of Luxembourg (LU), not on any Spanish company: the CSSF register of supervised entities carries it as an authorised electronic money institution, entity 9651, code W00000005, at 4, Rue du Fort Wallis L-2714 Luxembourg, authorised 31 December 2012 under its former name Leetchi Corp. S.A. (https://edesk.apps.cssf.lu/search-entities-api/api/v1/entite?page=0&size=20&entNames=mangopay). Spain is served by that same Luxembourg entity: the CSSF register records a freedom-of-services notification to ES from 24 April 2013 and, since 25 June 2023, a Spanish branch, "MANGOPAY S.A., succursale espagnole", C. de Velazquez, 34 28001 Madrid (https://edesk.apps.cssf.lu/search-entities-api/api/v1/entite/link/9651). A branch is not a separate head office, so the headquarters stay in Luxembourg; the same register shows sister branches in Paris (4, rue de la Tour des Dames, since 2012) and Berlin (2023), and the Paris branch is why some trade sources describe Mangopay as French. The Luxembourg licence does include acquiring of payment transactions (activity code SERVPAY_EMI_ACQOPA) alongside e-money issuance, but Mangopay sells wallet and money-movement infrastructure to platforms rather than merchant card acceptance, which is why the Spanish provider row is typed PSP / payment infrastructure and is left that way. Its own about page lists offices in Paris, Warsaw, Luxembourg, Madrid, Berlin, London and Dublin, states "Founded 2013" (the source of the founded year here, the legal entity itself dating from 10 December 2012 under the Leetchi name), and names Advent International as its owner.
