- Sep 2023·acquired by Fiserv — Fiserv already held a majority controlling interest (51%) and consolidated EMS in its Acceptance segment. On 25 Sep 2023 it bought ABN AMRO's remaining 49% for $56M, funded from available cash and commercial paper, per Fiserv's FY2023 10-K. ABN AMRO's release of 26 Sep 2023 confirms the sale 'with immediate effect' and says EMS was founded in 2005 as a joint venture. Control did not change hands; the joint venture ended and EMS became wholly owned by Fiserv.
