What it does

Wholesale bank that sells payments infrastructure to other financial institutions rather than to merchants: card payment processing across the full card chain, access to clearing houses and account-based payment schemes, cross-currency payments and digital payment solutions. Its own product page (https://www.cecabank.es/soluciones/pagos/procesamiento-de-pagos-con-tarjeta/) claims '+1.859 millones de transacciones procesadas', '+8 millones de tarjetas emitidas' and '+115.000 comercios procesados'. It is deliberately NOT proposed as a providers_in_market row: it processes for banks, it does not hold the merchant contract, and it is absent from the Banco de España payment-services register because its licence is a banking one.
