• Feb 2024·acquired OTP Bank Romania S.A. (with OTP Leasing Romania and OTP Asset Management Romania) — OTP Bank agreed on 9 February 2024 to sell OTP Bank Romania and its Romanian leasing and asset management units to Banca Transilvania for EUR 347.5 million, below their consolidated net asset value, and the sale of the bank closed on 30 July 2024.
• Nov 2017·acquired Victoriabank — Banca Transilvania announced in November 2017 that it intended to buy an initial stake of over 39% in Victoriabank, which would give it and the EBRD a controlling stake, and said in January 2018 that it had become a shareholder with a combined participation of over 66% alongside the EBRD. A mandatory tender offer completed in May 2018 raised the joint holding to 72.19%.
• Nov 2017·acquired Bancpost — Banca Transilvania's board approved the purchase of Eurobank Group's 99.15% of Bancpost on 23 November 2017, with the contract signed the next day, and BT closed the deal on 3 April 2018. BT paid EUR 178.67 million for Bancpost, EUR 40.42 million for ERB Retail Services IFN and EUR 6.79 million for ERB Leasing IFN, and took over a EUR 80 million subordinated loan Bancpost owed its former majority shareholders.
