What it does
Belgian merchant acquirer, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas Fortis, authorised by the National Bank of Belgium as a payment institution and holding its own Bancontact, Visa and Mastercard licences. It sells in-store and e-commerce card acceptance with settlement to merchants in Belgium and Luxembourg, and absorbed the Belgian acquiring portfolios of PaySquare and of Ingenico, the latter as a remedy in the European Commission's Worldline/Ingenico merger decision.

- May 2021·acquired Worldline POS acquiring business in Belgium and Luxembourg — Axepta BNP Paribas Benelux, a BNP Paribas Fortis subsidiary, agreed on 11 May 2021 to buy the Belgian in-store acquiring business Worldline had to divest after taking over Ingenico, together with Worldline's Luxembourg in-store business, and closed on 2 Nov 2021 after European Commission and National Bank of Belgium approval. The book covered about 16,000 merchants and no price was disclosed.
