What it does

Operates the Apple Pay wallet, which pays with the user's own credit and debit cards in stores, in apps and on websites without sharing the actual card number with the merchant, and which Apple says costs the payer no fee. A business switches acceptance on through the payment provider it already uses, or takes contactless payments on an iPhone through Tap to Pay without additional hardware.
