- Dec 2016·übernommen von Government of Ukraine (Ministry of Finance of Ukraine) — After the National Bank of Ukraine declared PrivatBank insolvent on 18 December 2016, the government decided to become its sole shareholder through the Ministry of Finance; after a bail-in that converted UAH 10,934 million of customer accounts, UAH 10,721 million of Eurobonds and UAH 7,783 million of subordinated debt into share capital, the shares were sold to the ministry for UAH 1 on 21 December 2016. At the end of 2015 the bank's ultimate major shareholders had been I.V. Kolomoyskiy (49.99%) and G.B. Bogolyubov (41.59%).
- Dec 2014·verkaufte JSC Bank of Georgia — PrivatBank signed a memorandum of understanding in December 2014 to sell its stake in its Georgian subsidiary JSC PrivatBank to JSC Bank of Georgia, and disposed of the 57.86% holding in January 2015 for a consideration of UAH 390 million. Bank of Georgia described the target as Georgia's 9th largest bank by total assets with a focus on retail banking.
