- May 2020·acquired by Magyar Bankholding Zrt. (Hungarian Bankholding Ltd.) — MTB and MKB Bank agreed in May 2020 to form a joint bank holding and Budapest Bank joined later that month; Magyar Bankholding started operating on 15 December 2020 after the controlling owners of the three banks contributed their shares to it with central bank approval. MKB's 97.2% package was booked at HUF 173.6 billion, but no price for the whole combination was published.
- Dec 2014·acquired by Hungarian State — GE signed an agreement in the fourth quarter of 2014 to sell Budapest Bank to the Hungarian government and completed the sale on 29 June 2015 for proceeds of USD 700 million.
